20 March 2015

This is not exactly the spring day I was expecting. I was at least hoping for sun. But all in all, there is not 8' plus of snow on the ground.

Just in, Lana Grossa 365 Cotone. This worsted weight chained cotton blend has arrived in several pastel colorways which are great for baby. Stop by and check them out!

This yarn knits at 5 sts/inch but can be knit to as much as 6.5 sts/inch. This cotton is really soft and light because of the way it is spun and the addition of polyamid (think nylon).

I think I have figured out the easiest way to cast-on for toe-up socks. I've been struggling to find a 'best' way and thought that I had if figured out - until I found what I think is the easiest and slickest way to start from the toe. No muss, no fuss - just easy.

Toe-up socks class is next Saturday, February 7 and 10 am. We'll be using DK weight yarn so you can see what you're doing but once you see, knitting with fingering weight is a breeze!

See you then.

18 December 2014

The holidays are rushing up on all of us. Just so you know, I will be

closing at 3 pm on Christmas Eve

and

reopening at 10 am on Friday.

We welcome you to come to the shop on Saturday or Sunday for holiday decompression if you need to. We can all share stories about our holiday fun.

We just got another shipment of Lang Jawoll. These are the special November colors (yes I know that this is December but they're running a bit late). This is a limited 'edition' of Jawoll. The colors will not be repeated, so you snooze, you loose.

Happy Holidays
