30 April 2017

I know I've been quiet lately but I've been hard at work knitting. The Agate Ripple Cardigan has been done and is hanging as a model in the shop (whew!) Stop by and see the finished product.

We just got in Feza Baby Gradient Blankets designed by Nancy Rieck. These packs will knit a blanket or two stoles. The yarn is called Baby and is sprayed dyed to two different intensities to create a gradient. The yarn is a cotton/viscose blend and is super soft and washable.

This is a think out of the box type of project. You can knit alternate stripes, add a pattern, what ever comes to mind. Be creative!

These kits will not be a our booth at Maryland Sheep and Wool (booth D16 Main Exhibition Hall). We will only have them at the shop.

WE NEED YOUR OPINION!

We're going high tech with solar power and LED lighting. We have a sample of the LED lighting and need your opinion. The color of the light is what we're interested in. When you stop by the shop, take a look and let us know what you think!

Yes I've been quiet. I've been knitting Prism's Agate Ripples cardigan. There are color changes that use Fibonacci numbers. It's fun and as I knit I weave in the ends so they only need to be glued. I'm almost finished. I'm working on the collar and once that's done it's just sew in the sleeves and it's ready to be a shop model for you to try on.

Laura Bryant at Prism Arts will make this in any color you want. All we have to do is ask and she will send a colorway for your approval.

See you soon.

14 January 2017

Friday the 13th passed unnoticed, and that's a good thing.

The weather apocalypse predicted for today is just that, a prediction. All we have is wet streets and no freezing rain, sleet or snow was in sight this morning. So if you're huddling in fear, fear not. We're here knitting and waiting to help you.

Lyn is finishing up the Gingersnap baby sweater using Jagger Spun Super Lamb. It's a quick knit and uses several colors of yarn. That makes the sweater fun to knit and allow you to show your creativity. You can see the sweater here on Ravelry. Simple and fun to knit!

When you stop by I can show you the progress that I've made on the Agate Ripples cardigan designed by Prism Arts. The cardigan is knit using Merino Mia, a wonderfully soft hand-dyed merino wool. The color change sequence assures that every sweater will be different. It is fun to knit and hard to stop because you want to see how the next color works into the design. Here's the design that appeared in Knitter's.

I'm knitting a different colorway than is shown in the magazine. The colorway chosen for the shop sample is called Dark Autumn and has the feel of a forest of fall leaves in full color.

7 January 2017

Wow! Happy New Year.

We're not getting too much knitting done right now - inventory time.

If you're thinking about coming out the roads are all clear and dry. Little flurries but not any serious snow. Come on down.

You can see Lyn's progress knitting the Ombre Tunic that will be a Knit-A-Long.

24 December 2016

Wow! Its been a long time since I've blogged. I've been knitting constantly to try to finish the shop model of Agate Ripples, a design by Laura Bryant of Prism Arts Yarns. I'm ready to divide for front and back. I can tell you that this model has not only been fun to knit but interesting to knit because of her way of using Fibonacci numbers. A picture of the pattern is on our Ravelry page. I will take a picture of my progress soon and post it.

The shop has also gotten in some knitting appropriate window stickers and greeting cards. I had to have them in the shop because they not only brought a smile but they made me laugh. Stop by and have a laugh for yourself.

Here's wishing all of you a happy holiday season.

Shop hours for Saturday Dec 24 10 - 2 pm. Closed for Christmas day.
